When interacting with factions in the game, you may have noticed that your reputation with some improves when you trade, release their raiders, or recruit them to your colony. But there are groups that flatly refuse to trade, make peace, or recruit, as they live solely by plundering other settlements. These are the pirate factions and the only way to interact with them in the game is to kill raiders and purge their settlements.
Raiding pirate settlements will earn you a favorable reputation with all other factions capable of trading and engaging in dialogue. Your reputation with these factions can be used in various ways:
- Call for immediate military support – if you are raided, a friendly faction will come to your aid.
- Call a trade caravan to sell/buy any items.
- Request the location of the core – for the construction of a starship..
All this can of course be done using the communication console.
How to raid pirates?
We organize a caravan with a dozen colonists dressed in the best armor and with the best weapons you have and send it to one of the pirate settlements:

Upon arrival you will receive a message like:
Karina’s caravan has arrived at Demon’s Plato and is ready to begin the attack. There are people who have relationships with your colonists or prisoners in this settlementю Elite mercenary Teddy:
- Son-in-law of colonist Karina
In the nase itself, pirates may attack immediately, or they may not react at all. But if they have a mortar, you’ll have to kite your colonists around the map until all the shells are fired at you, and only then attack.
Once you clear the base of pirates, you’ll become more and more treated better, and you’ll receive a message:
The enemy settlement Demon’s Plato hаѕ been destroyed. In 3.3 days, your caravan will be attacked by enemies. They will begin sending forces to attack the caravan, unless it reforms and leaves.
- Relations with Northern Commonwealth: +20
Relations with Northern Commonwealth have become very close. They now consider you an ally. Allies will sometimes arrive to help fight your enemies when you are under attack. You can also call them for help at any time, at a cost of goodwill. You’ve become allies because your goodwill (+79) has risen past +75. If goodwill falls below Ò, relations will return to neutral.
- Relations with Purple Dominion: +20
- Relations with Great Red League: +20
- Relations with The Pig People: +20
- Relations with Western Group: +20
The more factions treat you positively, the more trade caravans and military reinforcements will come to your post. But it’s better to prepare thoroughly for pirate raids, assuming in advance that they will have more people and better weapons:

There were 10 pirates against our 8 colonists. They were armed with a minigun, sniper rifle, LMG, chain shotgun, etc., against our 6 assault rifles and two melee soldiers with force shields.
In the end, we lost two colonists during the raid. One was shot in battle, and the other died of infection after the battle, as irreversible blood poisoning had set in. But we loot a ton of good weapons and left the location before their pirate friends arrived. It’s a shame the colonists can’t be brought back.
So I advise you to seriously prepare for raids. Good luck!
