The Otklyuch (Response) is an older model of anomaly detector. It emits an audible signal when anomalous particles enter a special chamber when approaching anomalies. It can also register the presence of artifacts and measure the distance to the nearest one—the distance to the artifact is determined by the frequency of the audible signal. Artifact search mode is activated by lifting the antenna cover on the front panel of the device. Due to its simple design, it is capable of detecting only the most common artifacts.
The Bear is a previous-generation anomaly detector. It’s equipped with an anomaly locator and an LED display to indicate the direction of an artifact. It can not only detect artifacts but also determine their distance. Artifact search mode is activated by lifting the antenna cover on the front of the device. Unfortunately, the somewhat outdated list of detectable artifacts is permanently built into the device—at the hardware level.
Veles is a next-generation detector-scanner used by scientists. Thanks to three advanced recording cameras, the artifact’s location relative to the detector is displayed on a special screen. It is capable of detecting radiation and the presence of anomalies. Artifact search mode is activated by raising the indicator panel on the front of the device; in this mode, it is capable of detecting all known artifacts.
Svarog is a prototype anomaly scanner with expanded functionality. A program has been added to recognize static zones of anomalous activity stored in the database, while maintaining the ability to detect artifacts. The location of anomalous zones and artifacts relative to the detector is displayed on a dedicated screen. The artifact search program, activated by raising the indicator board on the front of the device, has been improved; theoretically, this makes it possible to detect anomalous formations previously unknown to science.
