The Viper 5 is one of the finest submachine guns in the world. During the last decades of the 20th century, it was adopted by special forces and police forces in many countries. As it was gradually replaced by more modern models, it began appearing en masse on the black market, from where it eventually found its way into the Zone. It is chambered for 9×19 TsMO and 9×19 RVR ammunition.
The AKM-74/2U is similar in size and weight to a submachine gun, but its operating principle and cartridge classify it as an automatic rifle. Its advantages include compactness, which is crucial for combat in enclosed spaces, and relatively high bullet penetration. Its main disadvantages include a short effective range and a tendency to quickly overheat when firing in bursts. It is chambered for 5.45×39 and 5.45×39 BP ammunition.
The AKM-74/2 is a 1974 model assault rifle chambered for 5.45x39mm. It is a simple and reliable weapon, although its low production costs have somewhat compromised its responsiveness and accuracy. In the Zone, it is the primary weapon of military stalkers and many lone fighters. It is chambered for the following calibers: 5.45×39 and 5.45×39 BP.
The AS-96/2 is based on the AKM-74. One of its key differences from the original weapon is its ability to fire short bursts of accurate fire. It is chambered for 5.45×39 and 5.45×39 BP ammunition.
IL-86 – After the UK Army replaced this rifle with a more modern one, it surfaced in large quantities on the black market, and then in the Zone. The main advantages of this weapon are its standard 4x optical sight and high first-shot accuracy. When firing in bursts, accuracy drops sharply, and the main mechanisms exhibit insufficient reliability. It is chambered for 5.56×45 and 5.56×45 AR ammunition.
The TRs-301 is a new evolution of the renowned M-16 family. Thanks to its exceptionally smooth trigger, excellent ergonomics, and light weight, this weapon boasts high accuracy, although its sensitivity to contamination makes it unsuitable for use in challenging conditions. It fires 5.56×45 and 5.56×45 AR ammunition.
The SGI-5k is a relatively new Swiss assault rifle chambered for NATO cartridges. Its accuracy, soft recoil, and high reliability quickly earned it widespread popularity. It is chambered for 5.56×45 and 5.56×45 AR ammunition.
The Grom-S14 is a compact, reliable, yet versatile and powerful assault rifle/grenade launcher system. It’s a favorite among military stalkers. It fires 9×39 PAB-9 and 9×39 SP-6 rounds of ammunition, as well as VOG-25 grenades.
The GP-37 is a German-made assault rifle that represents a first-class example of a modern weapon—lightweight, reliable, and ergonomic. It fires 5.56×45 and 5.56×45 AR ammunition.
The Lavina SA is based on the Vintar-VS silent sniper rifle, but features a folding stock, standard burst-fire capability, and a larger magazine capacity. It was originally intended for use by special forces in situations requiring silent and flameless fire. It fires the following calibers: 9×39 PAB-9 and 9×39 SP-6.
The FT 200M is a machine gun-grenade launcher system with a computerized sight/fire control module and a 40mm grenade launcher. It fires 5.56x45mm and 5.56x45mm AR rounds, as well as M209 grenades.
The RP-74 light machine gun, despite its heavy weight and poor accuracy, has found use in the Zone. It is primarily used to combat superior enemy forces or to clear mutant lairs. It fires 7.62mm and 7N1 ammunition.
