Submachine guns | Fallout: New Vegas

Posted on August 6, 2026August 25, 2026 by alienshooter

The .22 caliber submachine gun with a silencer  is unusual in its drum magazine, which is also located on the top rather than the bottom. The silencer is built into the barrel, so this modification is unavailable. This expensive submachine gun can be purchased from Gunsmiths.

Requirements: Weapon: 50, Strength: 2. ID: 0008f218

The 9mm submachine gun is a decent early-game weapon. It deals decent damage at close range, though it empties its magazine after a couple of seconds. 9mm rounds have lower penetration than 10mm and, especially, 12.7mm, but you can reload them almost anywhere in the wasteland. If you play Hardcore mode, you’ll love their light weight.

Requirements: Weapon: 25, Strength: 3. ID: 0008f217

The Vance 9mm Submachine Gun is a unique version of the 9mm SMG with several differences from its predecessor. First, it has a larger magazine. Second, it deals significantly more damage. Third, it has a different component layout and, noticeably in combat, a different front sight.

Requirements: Weapon: 25, Strength: 3. ID: 000e32f4

10mm Submachine Gun – Thanks to its larger caliber cartridges, this SMG significantly outperforms its 9mm counterpart in terms of damage per bullet. However, this comes at the cost of increased spread and a slightly reduced rate of fire. The magazines are identical and hold 30 rounds each.

Requirements: Weapon: 50, Strength: 5. ID: 00004321

The 12.7mm submachine gun is a reliable, large-caliber ally in any battle. Its unique, top-mounted magazine ensures proper bullet placement. Thanks to its bullpup design, which places the barrel within the frame itself, it was possible to significantly reduce the size of the submachine gun without shortening the barrel itself. Moreover, the 12.7mm submachine gun not only has a deliberately reduced rate of fire, but also a smaller magazine, ensuring efficient ammunition consumption.

Requirements: Weapon: 100, Strength: 6. ID: 001429d1
