A relatively new castle in Heroes 3: Hota, released on December 30, 2023, for the holidays, features a large selection of units with unique properties and various castle building methods. The Factory’s homeland is a wasteland themed after the Wild West.
Features of the castle
- 8 units – the only castle that has two T7 units.
- The bank is a unique facility where you can take out a loan for a week.
- Artifact Merchant is a feature for wealthy heroes with gold.
- Mages Guild level 5 – despite the fact that it is a mechanical lock.
Heroes
The factory has a good selection of heroes, both warriors and mages, which only enhance the unique properties of the castle’s units. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the 1s have to be made from T1 ranged units—boys.
Henrietta

A classic warrior with three stacks of ranged units – boys, she’s one of the castle’s strongest heroes. Her luck-based ability help you breach a variety of targets and guards.
Sam

A warrior with a mechanics specialization—they have the unique ability to burn through an army for two squares, just like dragons. With each level, the Sam Mechanics will only become stronger and deal more damage. Moreover, from day one, after buying up, you might already have around 40 of these units.
Ziph

A Mage comes with a Lightning spell and 20 mana on the first day. This is enough to cast two Lightning Bolts. If you loot Mysticism on Ziph, it’s a decent snowball. For mage players or those lacking good warriors, this is an alternative.
Factory Build
It’s very versatile, with a wide range of options, and can be used both early and late in the game. As long as you have enough gold for everything. Incidentally, since you can always place a Bank on the Factory, you always have an extra 2,500 gold for buying troops, at the cost of -500 gold per week. Buying an army has often been helpful.
Day 1

- Mage Guild – If you play as a warrior mage, for a wider selection of spells.
- Ranch – additional units for the Armadillo army, will increase the chance of joining the army.
- Blacksmith – if you decide to stay for a day and upgrade boys or mechanics.
Day 3

Here, the first fork in the road appears: what to build, as you can either go worm by building a ranch, or spider by building a blacksmith. The choice is yours, depending on the specific game hand. Each of these units has unique properties that you can discover while playing as the Factory. 🙂
- Town Hall – additional 1000 gold daily.
- Catacombs – allows you to buy a worm for your army.
- Manufactory – unlocks the spider for purchase.
Day 5

On the fifth day, the main thing is to build a citadel—this will allow for a greater increase in your castle’s army in the second week. Besides the citadel, you can spend the remaining two days building a bank, upgrading units, building a guild, or preparing city hall buildings for a better economy.
Third week
Yes, you read that correctly: the third week of castle buld. When playing the Factory, and most other castles on the Memory Lane template, it’s more profitable to save gold for buying troops at the beginning of the third week and head straight to the Treasury Zone than to spend money on building T5-T7 units.
Afterwards, you can start building up, but most often, the army can be farmed in the treasure zone, and I don’t see an option in which it’s profitable to build T7 units in the Factory, of which there are two and they also have their own unique abilities.
But if you have to build a Factory in the late game, there are two ways to do it:
Couatls

You build a Ranch, Catacombs, a Mages Guild, and then the opportunity opens up to install a Serpentarium – a mechanical dragon.
Dreadnoughts

You build a Blacksmith, a Manufactory, a Watchtower – and you get the opportunity to build a Gantry and buy a robot for your army.
