Another magical castle in Heroes 3 Hota for review, the gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Tower, but without the genies. Because Flux’s construction is also quite linear, without much variety in both the early game and the late game.
Features of Conflux
- A level 5 Mages Guild can be built in very rare cases if you put some effort into it.
- The Artifact Merchant is a unique building for purchasing artifacts, right in the castle.
- Magic University – the opportunity to buy the hero all the elements of magic of his choice.
Heroes
A good selection of mage heroes, and warriors as well, like Labetha and Fiur. I like the former because she starts with basic earth magic, which can be quickly mastered, and the latter has an additional skill slot and advanced offense. Thanks to the runes from the Scientist, Fiur has a pretty interesting build on his first day.

But most of all I enjoyed playing as Ciele:
You can easily reach the treasure zone using only magic arrows and a minimal army, and by frequently pressing Q for auto-battle:
This is despite the fact that Ciele spent the first couple of days at base upgrading snowmens and buying up an army. Also, a significant advantage is that there’s a neutral Flux in Memory Lane, allowing you to effectively double the hero’s army.
Conflux Construction
There are only two ways to build this castle on day one: either place the Mages’ Guild or go with the Ballista. My biggest gripe with Conflux is that I can’t get a ranged unit on day one; everything is locked to the guild, and without it, I can’t build anything. Therefore, the Ballista was probably designed by the developers as a weak alternative to ranged units.
Day 1
- Mages Guild – More combat spells for hero.
- Ballista is a minimal ranged unit to support the army.
Day 3
Here, depending on whether you decide to tempo or sit at base all day, upgrade snowmen to air elementals, and then build a taun hall for more gold. Fish are rarely built, and even less so a fire elemental, because there may simply not be enough gold, time, or need to buy an entire army.

Day 5
There’s simply no point in building up Flux further, because this castle is already strong, and on Memory Lane you have two such castles for free – your main and a neutral one. Sometimes the tempo is more profitable than building the same energy workers, shitters, psychos, and phoenixes.
The only thing you can do is upgrade the pixies to a T2 unit, because in the upgraded version, enemies don’t respond to their attacks and the unit provides a good speed for hero:
- Fairy grade in T2 – for greater damage and acceleration.
Second week
Flux is rarely built in the second week, because the pace often allows you to find an army. The only thing you can build is an artifact merchant, or a magic university, and even then in a neutral flux, obly if you need to buy a school of earth or air magic for the hero.
Not enough gold
Mages Guild and Tawn Hall – a set for a young magician.
Average gold
Upgrade snowmen into airmen, upgrade fire elementals into energy men, or build and upgrade fish.
Huge gold situation
Artifact Merchants – for heroes with greater wealth, luckers and for prukhlo ones.
