Dernholm (1237W 1651S)
Dernholm is a decaying feudal state that lost its last city, Blackroot, to Tarant in the war. Talk to Liliana, who will tell you about the war and how her father died.
Return son’s ring
Gladys lives in the north of the city – she asks you to find the ring of her son, who died 20 years ago. She will name her son’s friend, Archibald, as a source of information. The ring is indeed in his possession.
You can steal the ring, take it from Archibald’s corpse, or persuade him to give it up. He will refuse and threaten to call his son. After speaking with Bernard, Archibald’s son, you will learn that his sister and Gladys’s son were supposed to marry, but they both died during the plague.
We will also learn that there is a hint of a romantic relationship between Gladys and Archibald. Return to Bernard’s father and tell him that Gladys finds him attractive. He will be delighted and will ask you to give her the ring.
Help the King of Cambria
Dernholm has a royal castle, its owner is King Praetor. He will ask you to collect taxes from Blackroot, but that will come later.
Other quests
Jeanne Styles lives in the south of Dernholm – she will join the technologist player.
In the royal tavern, the dwarf Volinger can join you, but I don’t recommend taking him into the group – he is a man of Moloch. That’s all. Now let’s go to Blackroot.
